The return match for these two fighters was made nearly two years after the first. Jerry Quarry had gone on a 6 fight winning streak since last losing to Ali when he was cut and couldn't continue. Quarry had beaten average opposition like Larry Middleton, Tony Doyle and Jack Bodell. Quarry had a record of 43-5-4 with 26 knockouts. Muhammad Ali had gone 6-1 since the last meeting beating the likes of Jimmy Ellis, Mac Foster and George Chuvalo. Ali had lost to Joe Frazier for the title and this fight would put one of the fighters in line for a title shot. Ali was 36-1 before this fight. Let's see if Jerry could turn the tide against Ali.

ALI-TKO 7

Ali looked great in this fight and proved that he was ready again for a title shot, which he would get 2 years later. Ali was better now then when he came off retirement and was getting ready to shock the world one more time. Jerry Quarry wasn't able to match up well against Ali and not many people did. Quarry would still go on to win some big fights, but he could never get over the hump against the tip-top heavyweights like Ali or Frazier.
